About Us

Superheroes Anonymous was written by the daughter-and-father team of Becky and Brian Mayhew. Becky is a former pupil of Long Ditton St Mary's school, where the world premier performances took place and where her mother Joan works as a music teacher.

Becky

In 2001, at the tender age of 16, Becky wrote the script comprising many comic sketches for a production by Nemcom theatre company, which was performed at the Adrian Mann theatre in Ewell to great acclaim. She also wrote a pantomime, Dingerella, a spoof of Cinderella, in 2002 for Long Ditton St Mary’s.

In 2006 Becky graduated with a 2:1 in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia, and in 2007, fed up with an extensive period of writer’s block, she dragged her best friend to America for a five-week summer road trip, which was a fantastic but expensive method of searching for creative inspiration. She is currently in the process of writing about their adventures with a view to turning it into a book.

Becky hopes to eventually make a living from writing, be it for stage and screen or through novels and short stories, and would one day like to have GCSE English exam questions written about her works. In the meantime, she will continue to write, bake cakes, and think of a Plan B whilst fervently hoping for a lucky break.

Brian

Brian graduated in music and applied physics a long time ago, but managed to get a proper job as a freelance software engineer. However, he continues to inflict his musical inclinations at Emmanuel Church Tolworth and at Long Ditton St Mary's, where he has also adorned school productions with sound and lights for many years. This is his first creative collaboration with his daughter, and he hopes that she will remember this when she is rich and famous.
